Our History

Family Restoration Christian Church began when God spoke to Pastors Fred and Rhonda Harris, calling them to pioneer a ministry dedicated to restoring families and marriages. Stepping out in faith, they launched a team-based ministry named Family Restoration Christian Center, following God’s instruction and purpose.

The Early Years: Camden, SC

The ministry held its very first service on July 24, 2004, at Camden High School in Camden, South Carolina. This marked the beginning of a vision centered on healing, restoration, and the power of God’s Word.

A God-Led Move to Sumter, SC

In July 2005, God directed Pastor Fred to relocate the ministry to Sumter, SC. On September 6, 2005, Family Restoration Christian Center moved to 1744 Peach Orchard Road, holding its first service there on New Year’s Eve.

The ministry remained at this location until June 2007, when another ministry offered them a building—an answered prayer during a season of believing God for more space and resources.

A New Identity and a Permanent Home

In 2013, the ministry underwent a God-ordained transition and became Family Restoration Church. Later, in October 2015, the church purchased its first building at:

2362 Peach Orchard Road
Sumter, SC 29154

This location continues to serve as the home of Family Restoration Church today.

A Legacy of Restoration

Throughout the years, countless lives have been transformed. Families have been strengthened, marriages restored, and many have come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The mission remains unwavering: to restore families, rebuild lives, and see people walk in the fullness of God’s plan for them.

Pastors Fred and Rhonda, along with the church family, remain dedicated to this calling. Every day is another step toward fulfilling the vision God entrusted to them.

“When every member does his part and his share, it causes growth to the body.” — Ephesians 4:16

Family Restoration Church exists for a purpose. It’s all about Restoration.
